A confessional Lutheran congregation
We believe the Scriptures are the inerrant, infallible Word of God, and we confess that the ancient creeds of the church - the Apostles, the Nicene, and the Athanasian - and the Reformation confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church are true, clear, and correct for confessing what Scripture says. You can find our beliefs in the Book of Concord.
We are a member congregation of the conservative Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, and we have been since our district, the SELC District, joined the LC—MS in 1971 after having been a separate church body, the Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Church, from 1902. Slovaks have a proud Reformation history dating back to its earliest days, and their beliefs, songs, and life continue today through John Huss and our sister congregations.
We have worshipped in Slovak in the days of our forefathers and now worship in English in the mainstream tradition of American Lutherans. Through every year of our existence we have believed and confessed what we now believe and confess. The Truth has not changed, so we have not changed in our confession of Truth.
